The vase belongs to my daughter and is designed by Ottolenghi.
I was thinking about painting it for awhile but had to think hard as to choose what flowers I was going to paint in it.
My first thought was actually poppy's but I thought it might be boring. So I looked at other flowers but they just didn't fit the bill.
As the vase is big and bold I wanted the flowers to be the opposite and I don't think the result is boring at all. Besides the main part was for the vase anyway.
I deliberately chose a different palette.
