January _ Light

The earth is moist
and filled with promise,
a carpet of Moss
like chromed copper
colors my path.
Tufts of light on a grey day.
Capricious bare branches
break open and give
the wind and my view free play.
Alongside my path,
the array of fragrant yellow
lightly dangling in the wind
leads me back to my door.
I wrote this to try and make you see through my eyes how I came to paint my view on January.
